Red Hoffman Cup Matches

The Red Hoffman Cup Matches were created in 2005 to foster interaction and friendly competition among northern New Jersey golf clubs. These annual matches have been named in honor of Arthur K. “Red” Hoffman, the legendary New Jersey golf writer.  Each Spring the matches feature over 400 leading New Jersey amateurs and professionals playing a total of 864 rounds in a no-handicap, four-ball competition designed to effectively identify the strongest cohort of players in one club in Northern New Jersey. The 2017 champion team is from Arcola Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey, led by Captains Brian Celiberti and Matt Headington. The 2018 Hoffman Cup Matches will be contested at all 32 member clubs in April and May, with the Finals to be held at iconic Plainfield Country Club on May 12.

The Hoffman Cup’s First Tee Initiative

The Red Hoffman Cup Matches First Tee Initiative is likely to exceed its previous years of support to the four First Tee chapters in New Jersey.  To give back to the game we love, Hoffman Cup captains and their teammates have been invited to volunteer time and/or make a donation to The First Tee's impactful programs. First Tee - Raritan Valley is very grateful for the financial impact the participants of the Hoffman Cup matches have made to our chapter. In 2017, over $10,500 was donated by participants of member clubs of the Hoffman Cup. We appreciate the support and wish all the clubs Good Luck in the 2018 competition.   How to Contribute
